Okay, do you see the picture with the red head girl against the white back ground? That one is called the "Meg Hair".
As I type, it's lounging around in your game files, utterly useless and untouchable. In other words, it's taking up your computer’s memory and you can’t even use it! See the picture of the dark haired woman in the red dress? That's another hidden hair style. Take a close look; these are pictures of the original Sims2.
A few years ago, MaxoidJason, an object engineer in the Sims2 studio, confirmed that they did indeed redesign the entire game. The Sims2 had many release dates, and EA kept canceling and canceling and canceling. When the game finally reemerged, it was almost unrecognizable, in a bad way. Originally, there were ceiling fans, ceilings, weather, (yep, it was in the base game, you didn't need an EP,) and numerous other things.
Here's what Maxoid Jason and I talked about:
YoungOldPrude: “I also noticed that on the box of Makin’ Magic, that Buy Mode and Build Mode are completely different. In my area, The Sims2 was canceled for some time. What did Maxis do, redesign the entire darn game? It seems so.”
MaxoidJason: “That’s exactly it. We did redesign the entire game. Basically, what we wanted to accomplish in the Sims 2 was unfit for the old UI (including Build and Buy Mode). So, we enhanced the UI, making room for more features.”
MaxoidJason was one of the most helpful and patient Maxoids that I have ever had the honor to meet in my life. The honest ones, who take the time to listen and respond to the community’s questions, are a rare breed these days. MaxoidJason helped me immensely with my game. Because of MaxoidJason, I was able to repair some serious problems in my game, and I also learned a lot about computers in the process. I received more help from MaxoidJason, than I ever did from the EA Technical Support team. So, you can definitely trust his word that they did redo the game, hiding old hair styles in the process.
Darleen Dreamer, one of the dead Sims in Pleasant View, originally had the “Meg Hair.” There are other hidden hair styles as well, including a bee hive hairdo for females.
Hope this helped,
